2009 -- the saga continues!

Back in 2005, I said to Richard, while we were having dinner one night with the wives, at my house in Stockport, "I've had this crazy idea .......". And so it was that in January 2006 we drove our old Sierra across the Sahara desert.

I thought that was the end of it! Not a chance.

In January 2007 we repeated the adventure in an old Fiesta, and had such a good time that we are now doing it again!!

The main differences this time are that
a) we will be taking our wives as far as Marrakech -- they will be flying back to France from there.
b) we are going in a 4x4 -- Richard's specially fettled Discovery -- converted to LHD of course!

SO!! This time there are just the FOUR buttons......

Our route and timetable, to enable you to follow our progress.
A final report of the whole trip.
Click here to either add a comment/abuse/good wishes etc OR to read our latest reports which were entered while we were on the road. It's in a "guestbook" format, with the LATEST entry appearing first.

This is a "FLICKR" page with photos we added en route. (They start with Richard working on the vehicle in Stockport.) More may be added eventually.

Also roaming around the Sahara at the same time will be our friend Tim, in his Mercedes bus, which he will be driving to Banjul to donate to the DMF school. There is a lot of space in that Merc that YOU could help fill with stuff for the DMF school. Want to know more???? Click on THIS for Tim's "wish list". (P.S. He can collect in France and Spain as well!!)
