The 200km long Côte d’Argent in Les Landes between the Gironde Estuary and the Ardour River north of Biarritz, is Europe’s longest sandy coastline backed by sand dunes and fragrant pine forest, offering some of the best surfing, kitesurfing and bodyboarding in France. A region blessed with a warm, sunny climate and wonderful scenery, it is an area of peace and tranquillity with a wealth of walking, cycling and mountain biking trails. There are many lakes offering good fishing, boating, kayaking and windsurfing, and opportunities to play golf on immaculate and uncrowded golf courses. There is also horse riding and a range of other sports. An excellent place to simply breathe in nature and enjoy the best the great outdoors can offer.

For the less active, there is a variety of cultural attractions, from gastronomic delights to floral parks, craft workshops, museums and potteries. There are the beautiful sandy beaches to laze around on and lap up the hot sunshine, ancient towns and villages to explore and the chance to take excursions into the Pyrenees and Spain.

Even in the cooler months the cycle paths and surf still attract many and if the mountains start to call you, the Pyrenees are only a couple of hours away, with fantastic snow from November through to April.
